What does the platform fee cover?
The platform fee is a percentage of each rental subtotal. It covers payment processing, identity verification infrastructure, in-app messaging, and access to the ClearFare marketplace. It does not include the separate traveler service fee.
Is there a fee for travelers?
Travelers pay a 3% service fee per booking, capped at $25. This is included in the total price shown before booking, so there are never surprise charges.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
How does identity verification pricing work?
Each ID/license verification check costs $1.25 and is passed through at cost. This covers third-party verification services. Repeat renters with a verified profile do not need to re-verify.
What payment methods do you support?
We process payments through major credit and debit cards. Payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per charge) are standard industry rates and kept separate from our platform fee for full transparency.
Do I need a credit card to start with the Starter plan?
No. The Starter plan is free with no monthly charge. You only pay the platform fee when you complete rentals. We collect payment details when you list your first vehicle.
